Family Life in Thailand

The family in Phuket has shrunk to normal levels again. The recent transplants from Buri Ram have left again. Three sisters of the Phetlert family are here now, Su, my wife, Min, Phil's wife and Smon who works at Rolly Tasker Sails and lives in Phil's house. Phil is a retired Canadian naval officer, and we got to know him from our boating days.

My step-daughter Chim, after two years attendance at Ramkamheng University, has had to suspend her university education because of an accident, the result of which is Our Baby Faay. Faay is a lovely baby. See pictures of it by clicking in the underlined link.  My other step-daughter Chuang, after finishing high school and recently working in an accounting firm serving an international clientele, has quit the job to marry a young man from Belgium, Danny Maes, and she lives with him in Belgium now. Danny is one of the four Belgians who came to Phuket for a holiday last year, and three of them ended up with Thai wives. One of them, Rudi married a cousin of Chuang, named Tukta.

Now there are four of us again in our house.

In January 2002 Manfred and Imke visited us in Phuket. They toured all of Thailand in a rented car. Manfred is the brother of my former wife Ellen-Traute, who lives in Canada.
